Pre-k through grade 2
Finally, an alternative to traditional classroom music that is intelligently designed to succeed. This fast-paced class gives the K-2 student the opportunity to participate in a real string program that is normally unavailable until 4th grade. Classes combine music with math, science, history, and language.
Students will learn traditional music theory, bowings and rhythms, and with the Kinderfiddle, prepare to play a stringed instrument. The Kinderfiddle is a patented violin position trainer and corrector designed as a stand-alone learning tool, as well as for pre-Twinkler programs and musical kindergarten. Together with our method books, our Sing and Play system teaches music through song, rhythm, and movement.
Grade 3 through 6
Kinderfiddle™
New and returning students are quickly introduced to the basic technique of playing a stringed instrument by our symbologic approach. Just as children speak naturally, but must be trained to read and write, children play music naturally, but must be taught string instrument skills, notation, and theory. The problem is most elementary aged students just aren't ready to learn traditional music and rhythm notation. Our preparatory symbologic approach introduces the concept of reading notes and rhythms in an intelligent, progressive manner. Kinderfiddle is the bridge between the natural and the unnatural. Soon students will be playing traditional songs in preparation for intermediate and advanced classes.
Fiddlesticks™
Middle school
Fiddlesticks string music program advances traditional string education to the next level. Our Fiddlesticks middle school string music program is like having a string specialist in every class. Students will utilize the Fiddlesticks through kinesthetic learning. Fiddlesticks deconstructs learning and enables the student to virtually experience rhythms, bowings, and finger gymnastic exercises, rather than simply have them explained.
Our concept of deconstructing the practice of a string instrument into component elements of learning allow the student to focus on one element at a time. This is impossible on the string instrument itself. Utilizing these techniques, students actually engage in the art of practice. Now advanced technique can be learned earlier and faster than ever before.
Fiddlesticks™
High school
Fiddlesticks high school string music program provides advanced technique to students of all levels. For the high school student who is just beginning a stringed instrument, the Fiddlesticks method provides all the tools for fast integration into the orchestral environment. For the intermediate to advanced student, Fiddlesticks will guide them through the obstacles of learning difficult music. Students will practice shifting of positions, vibrato, horizontal and vertical finger gymnastics, essential music theory, tonalization, and styles. Our simplified music additions will quickly introduce music of the masters in a fun and entertaining matter.
For the young at heart
Fiddlesticks™
This specialty program is designed for adults that once played, or have always wanted to play a stringed instrument. Our movement and music kinesthetic method will gradually train the mind and body to play a stringed instrument. An alternative to yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, or alternative physical therapies. Fiddlesticks can be used as a stand-alone tool for relaxation and mental stimulation, while learning all the technique required to play a stringed instrument.
